The OCPP Plugfest is an annual event that brings EV charging software providers and hardware manufacturers together to test their OCPP 1.6 and 2.0.1 integrations. This event is an excellent opportunity for EV charging companies to receive feedback on the progress of their OCPP implementation. It is a unique platform for the community to directly address any questions and obstacles concerning the protocol with the source.

On February 28 and 29, developers of charging stations and charging station management systems from across the globe will gather at the Pionix facility in Bad Schönborn, Germany. Whether online or in-person, this will be another one-of-a-kind opportunity to test OCPP implementations collaboratively.

The event venue in Bad Schönborn, Germany, located between Karlsruhe and Heidelberg, will open its doors for an engaging online and onsite OCPP 1.6 & 2.0.1 test event. On Feb. 27th, accompanying the test event this year will be a conference on “Open-source in e-mobility,” featuring insightful presentations, panel discussions, and more. Registration for this conference is separate from the Plugfest. Furthermore, the organizers offer an exciting side program to everyone interested in developing OCPP and EV charging standards. The organizers and participants will dive deeper into communication protocols, new developments and open source for three days.

The event will also feature demonstrations, workshops, and presentations on global OCPP regulations, cyber security, the OCPP2.0.1 Certification program, OCPP1.6 vs. 2.0.1, and more.

As an OCA (Open Charge Alliance) member and OCPP-certified charge point management system (CPMS) provider, AMPECO will attend the Plugfest for another consecutive year. Plugfest participants will learn more about our complex EV charging stack and have the opportunity to test how their charging stations communicate with our platform through the OCPP.

The Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) is a notable growth driver for the EV charging industry. It provides the flexibility and interoperability needed to integrate the many solutions available in the EV charging market. It supports the mass adoption of electric mobility by enabling stakeholders to choose and combine the most suitable EV charging software and hardware configurations for their business models.
