We’re proud to announce that EV Power, the UK’s largest ultra-rapid charging network, has selected AMPECO’s EV charging management platform to support its national expansion. The partnership currently covers more than 2,800 charge points across 550+ charging locations. EV Power is the EV charging division of Motor Fuel Group (MFG), the UK’s largest independent forecourt operator with approximately 1,200 sites across Great Britain. MFG has committed £400 million to 3,000 ultra-rapid chargers across 500 sites in the UK by 2030.
EV Power chose AMPECO for its enterprise-grade capabilities and software-only focus, which now supports 200+ charging networks across more than 70 markets. That combination made it the right long-term partner for an operator building on a national scale.
Consistent, Reliable, Consumer-First EV Driver Experience
EV Power’s strategy is straightforward: every driver, at every bay, should receive the same quality charging experience. The business secures grid connections large enough to sustain peak demand across the entire hub, guaranteeing the full advertised power at every bay regardless of how many vehicles are charging simultaneously.
Reliability is held to the same high standard. Internal uptime is measured against a stricter benchmark than the UK government’s PCPR reporting requires: only events genuinely outside the company’s control are excluded from the calculation. On that basis, the network runs at 98.3 to 98.5% uptime per week, tracked daily as a core business KPI. AMPECO’s platform gives the operations team the tools to keep both commitments measurable and actionable across every hub on the network.
A Growth Relationship
MFG runs a billion-pound business with a lean central team, guided by one consistent principle: partner with domain specialists rather than build non-core capabilities in-house. When it came to charge point management software, EV Power applied the same logic.
Before signing, Symes flew to AMPECO’s headquarters to meet CEO Orlin Radev and the team in person. For Symes, genuine trust is built face to face, before contracts are signed, and the visit was a strong testament that AMPECO was that kind of partner.
The migration reflected the same approach. AMPECO’s dedicated migration team worked closely with EV Power to capture requirements across the entire network, systematically working through the handover to ensure that all data and configurations were transferred cleanly. The platform cutover was completed without disruption to live operations.
“You guys are the experts at this. We want you to handle this, and we will do what we do best: rolling out infrastructure, having people on site.”
Omor Sany, Technical Operations Manager at EV Power, describes the working model that came out of it.
Operational Efficiency at Network Scale
Scaling new locations while maintaining daily uptime KPIs requires software that absorbs the operational complexity of growth. AMPECO gives EV Power’s operations team the tools to commission chargers, monitor the network, detect faults, and automate compliance across 550+ locations and 2,800+ charge points, without adding overhead in proportion to the network’s expansion.
Configuration templates cut charger commissioning time, enabling the team to manage rollout across multiple sites in parallel at peak pace. For fault detection, AMPECO monitors every charge point in real time. When a cable theft triggered a specific error code at one of EV Power’s locations, automated alerts were sent to site staff, operations, and management in real time, allowing them to resolve the issue immediately.
AMPECO is EV Power’s single source of truth for all charge point data. A unified view of charging sessions, fault history, and operational logs replaced the multiple systems previously required to investigate issues, from a disputed session to a hardware fault. That data also informs financial planning, site selection, and utility billing verification across the business. AMPECO’s open API connects EV Power’s charging data with its wider technology infrastructure, giving the team the flexibility to build and extend integrations as the business evolves.
PCPR compliance reporting is now fully automated, with the weekly submission produced overnight without manual intervention.
“The uptime data alone used to take most of a working day to prepare. Now I can pull it in about 10 minutes. It’s a vast improvement.”

Built for 2030
EV Power is advancing what ultra-rapid charging delivers to every driver on the network – from Plug and Charge in partnership with Hubject to battery programs to extend the network’s reach beyond current grid constraints.
“I looked at the release notes and was literally thinking about raising something in our next meeting, but it had already been released. AMPECO is always ahead of the curve.”
Omor Sany, Technical Operations Manager at EV Power.
AMPECO’s product roadmap is informed directly by the operational requirements of network operators such as EV Power. Platform updates ship weekly, the direct output of an AI-native engineering approach that shortens the path from an operator’s request to a live release.
For AMPECO, the working relationship comes with a clear mandate:
EV Power is scaling the UK’s largest ultra-rapid charging network to 500 locations and 3,000 ultra-rapid chargers by 2030, backed by AMPECO’s platform supporting every step of that expansion.
