“It’s a marathon, not a sprint” is more than just a saying at AMPECO – it’s a core value that shapes our culture. But sometimes, we take this quite literally. Sometimes it actually is a marathon, like when our colleagues participate in charity races across Bulgaria. Other times it’s a sprint, but it’s always for a meaningful cause.

More Than a Movement: Why Sports at AMPECO Matter - Sport isn't just something we do after work here. It's part of how we work. The energy, resilience, and collaborative spirit that drive our success in revolutionizing electric vehicle charging don't disappear when we leave our desks - they show up on hiking trails, volleyball courts, and marathon finish lines.

At AMPECO, we’ve discovered that building a world-class EV charging platform requires more than code reviews and sprint planning. It also happens through volleyball spikes on Varna’s beaches, mountain trails at sunset, and shared challenges that emerge when you choose running shoes over another conference room meeting.

Sport isn’t just something we do after work here. It’s part of how we work. The energy, resilience, and collaborative spirit that drive our success in revolutionizing electric vehicle charging don’t disappear when we leave our desks – they show up on hiking trails, volleyball courts, and marathon finish lines.

However, none of this is forced. This is organic, authentic, and driven by the genuine interests of our team. When over half of our 170+ colleagues actively participate in sports, it creates a culture where pushing boundaries and supporting each other become second nature.

When Team Building Becomes Real Competition

This summer’s summit in Varna perfectly captured what makes AMPECO different when it comes to sports.

What started as standard team-building sessions naturally evolved into an epic volleyball tournament. Eight teams, 70 participants, and South Beach transformed into a competitive arena, where it was easy to see how the ambitious side of our team we see in daily activities shows directly when it comes to winning games like this one.

But volleyball represents just one slice of AMPECO’s athletic diversity. Our team engages in over 30 different sports activities, from classic pursuits like hiking, cycling, running, and tennis to unique challenges like fencing, paragliding, dynamic shooting, and padel. This variety mirrors our approach to problem-solving: there’s no single path to excellence, and different challenges require different strategies.

Real Stories, Real Growth

Take Tihomir Tonov, one of our team champions and a marathon veteran. His journey from struggling to run 2 kilometers to completing the grueling Kodzha Kaya Epic Trail—75 km with 4,400 meters of elevation gain – reflects the kind of growth mindset that drives innovation. “Going through tough challenges like 70 to 100 km trail runs teaches you how to deal with difficulties and approach them so you can get through,” he explains. “You start to understand that everything is doable – even if it looks intimidating at first.”

That mindset translates directly to his work developing roaming features that connect our platform to charging networks worldwide. The persistence required to push through kilometer 60 of an ultramarathon is the same persistence that solves complex API integration challenges.

Even our participation in charity events like the Edenred RUN 2025 reflects this authentic approach. Our three teams didn’t just compete in the challenging relay race – they ran with purpose, knowing their participation supported a meaningful cause. When two teams won prizes in the post-event raffle, it felt like validation of good intentions.

A Culture That Works

More Than a Movement: Why Sports at AMPECO Matter - Sport isn't just something we do after work here. It's part of how we work. The energy, resilience, and collaborative spirit that drive our success in revolutionizing electric vehicle charging don't disappear when we leave our desks - they show up on hiking trails, volleyball courts, and marathon finish lines.

Sports at AMPECO reveal the same qualities that drive our success in the rapidly evolving EV charging industry: natural curiosity, proactiveness, teamwork, transparency, and commitment to excellence. These values—continuously charging ourselves with knowledge, always ready to take the driver’s seat, empowering each other on the road to success – play out as authentically on weekend hiking trails as they do in our customer service approaches.

Whether you’re someone who spikes volleyballs in your sleep or just learned which end of a tennis racket to hold, the invitation is the same: bring energy, collaboration, and drive. Because at AMPECO, the habits that build strong teams on the court happen to be the same ones that build them everywhere else.

The question isn’t whether you’re athletic enough for AMPECO; it’s whether you’re ready to be part of a culture where personal growth, team support, and collective achievement power everything we do, from spontaneous mountain adventures to revolutionizing global EV charging infrastructure.
