Electric vehicles (EVs) are more than just a mode of transportation; they represent a significant stride towards a greener, more sustainable future. Recognizing this, Anaheim Public Utilities has initiated the Public Access Electric Vehicle Charging Station Rebate Program. This program is designed to encourage businesses, schools, affordable housing providers, and other public access locations to embrace EV infrastructure. If you’re interested in joining the electric revolution, here’s all you need to know about this exciting program.

Anaheim’s EV Charger Rebates at a Glance

Anaheim Public Utilities is committed to supporting its commercial, industrial, and municipal customers in their transition to cleaner, electric transportation. The program offers rebates to those who install Level 2 (240-Volt) or higher plug-in EV chargers in locations accessible to the public. Notably, these locations can include spaces patronized by residents, commuters, visitors, and multi-family dwelling residents.

Rebate Details

Under this program, participants can receive reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses related to their charging station installations. For public access locations, the rebate can go up to $5,000 per charging station. However, for schools, affordable housing, and publicly accessible DC fast plug-in locations, the rebate is even more enticing, reaching up to $10,000 per station. There’s a maximum cap of 10 charging stations for the former and 4 for the latter.

Eligible Expenses

The rebate covers various expenses to facilitate your transition to EV charging infrastructure. Eligible costs include the purchase price of the charger and installation expenses. Additionally, Anaheim Public Utilities will generously cover the city’s permit application fee for the EV charger. Moreover, program participants who choose to install an associated sub-meter may receive up to $5,000 in additional support. The utility will also pay applicable city permit fees and reimburse city plan check fees, up to $1,500 for such participants.
